IOP offers the best of inpatient treatment for substance use disorder as an outpatient service, allowing you to fit treatment around work, school, childcare, or other responsibilities.
Master Center offers rolling enrollment for IOP, meaning that whenever you’re ready, you won’t be waitlisted, you can start right away. Choose a daytime or evening IOP and a virtual or in person group to best fit your schedule.
When you’ve completed your IOP, stay on your path to recovery by continuing your journey at Master Center. Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) is available during and after IOP if appropriate. Comprehensive therapy and peer recovery coaching are available to you through our Sustained Recovery Program.

Outpatient treatment centers are located in the Richmond metro area, Hampton Roads, and Gloucester. Following your initial consultation, telehealth may be an alternative to in-person appointments if approved by your medical provider.

IOP Cost & Paying for IOP
If you have Virginia Medicaid, the cost of your IOP at Master Center is covered in full. If you have Tricare, Cigna, or Virginia Anthem health insurance, you may be responsible for any deductibles or co-pays based on your individual plan. Please note that out-of-state Anthem plans are not covered.
If you are not covered by one of these insurance providers, the cost of your IOP with Master Center is $350 per session. Payment plans are available to spread out the cost of your IOP treatment.

What to Expect from Master Center IOP
- Four, 3-hour sessions per week, for 6 weeks (24 sessions)
- Education from certified IOP counselors
- Personal experiences and real-world tools shared among the group
- Support from a group of individuals who have walked in your shoes
- Explore a range of topics, such as understanding the disease of addiction, strategies to manage and prevent relapse, life skills and coping with stress, self-forgiveness and moving past shame, the experience of trauma, and living with mental health disorders
- Help transitioning smoothly back into families and communities after rehab

Transition seamlessly from IOP into Master Center’s sustained recovery program. Continue your journey with support from your personal peer recovery coach and comprehensive therapy. Medication Assisted Treatment, or MAT, is available to you during or after IOP, if appropriate.
