GLEN ALLEN, VA, FEB. 17, 2026—Master Center for Addiction Medicine announces the hire of medical provider Shannon Garrett, FNP-C, CARN-AP. Garrett will serve patients in the Greater Richmond region.
Garrett is a licensed nurse practitioner, holding certifications as a family nurse practitioner and an addiction registered nurse-advanced practice. She holds a Master of Science in nursing (MSN) from Duke University, with a concentration in family nursing practice (FNP).
Garrett has worked as a family nurse practitioner for 15 years and began providing addiction treatment as part of her clinical practice seven years ago. Her expertise involves working with primary care facilities and community mental health agencies to provide evidence-based care across vulnerable populations, including the safe administration of medication-assisted treatment.
As a medical provider, Garrett will work in tandem with Master Center’s multidisciplinary treatment team of addiction psychiatrists, peer recovery coaches, certified counselors and diverse medical staff to provide quality, evidence-based treatment to Master Center patients. Additionally, she will manage her patients’ recovery plan with individualized care that tailors to specialized patient needs.
“Adding experienced providers like Shannon allows us to expand our capacity to deliver high quality addiction treatment to more individuals and families who need it,” said Master Center CEO Anna McKean. “As the need for evidence-based addiction care continues to grow across our communities, it is essential that we bring on skilled clinicians who share our commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.”
“It is an honor to join an organization that holds itself to the highest standards in addiction medicine,” said Garrett. “Master Center’s commitment to evidence-based treatment and collaborative, team-driven care truly sets it apart. Recovery is most successful when medical providers, psychiatrists, counselors, and recovery coaches work together in a coordinated way. I am excited to be part of a multidisciplinary team that surrounds patients with the comprehensive support they need to achieve lasting recovery.
Garrett will work from the Glen Allen office beginning in February 2026.
