GLEN ALLEN, VA, NOV. 20, 2024—Master Center for Addiction Medicine announces the hire of medical provider Alecia Ball, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, PMHNP-BC. Ball will serve patients within the Hampton Roads region. Ball is the third medical provider added to the Master Center roster in as many months to serve Virginia’s growing demand for high-quality addiction treatment.

Ball is a board-certified adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner and registered psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with four years of experience in addiction medicine and two years of psychiatry experience. Her experience involves working with respected facilities including hospitals and addiction medicine clinics.

Ball holds a bachelor of science degree in registered nursing and a master of science degree in nursing, concentrating in adult gerontology primary care, from Walden University. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in psychiatric mental health nursing from Liberty University and a Drug & Food Administration (DEA) license to administer medication-assisted treatment.

As a medical provider, Ball will work alongside Master Center’s multidisciplinary treatment team of addiction psychiatrists, peer recovery coaches, counselors and medical staff to provide evidence-based treatment. Additionally, she will manage her patients’ recovery plan with quality, individualized care that tailors to unique patient needs, focusing on addiction psychiatry.

“Alecia will be a great addition to our addiction treatment team,” said Master Center CEO, Anna McKean. “We’re excited to bring on experienced providers like Alecia focused on psychiatry and co-occurring disorders. It’s important to increase access to those with both mental health and substance use disorders, and it’s great to have someone with experience in that field.”

“It’s exciting to be with a top-tier addiction facility focused on quality patient care,” says Ball. “I’m looking forward to working in a setting that has psychiatry and medical teams working with coaches to provide wraparound treatment.”

Ball will start seeing patients from the Kilmarnock and Hampton offices beginning in December.
