Master Center Receives Grant From Virginia DVS Suicide Prevention and Opioid Addiction Services

The new grant will support the veteran community in addiction treatment.

GLEN ALLEN, VA, OCT. 5, 2024—Master Center for Addiction Medicine announces their selection as a second-year Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) Suicide Prevention and Opioid Addiction Services (SOS) grantee.

The grant will be used to continue providing Service Members, Veterans and Families (SMVF) comprehensive addiction treatment services. Additionally, the grant will allow the center to continue its popular Veterans Webinar series that features topics intended to inform, educate and guide the SMVF community and other addiction providers.

The DVS is dedicated to connecting Virginian veterans and their families to government benefits and quality healthcare, as well as helping them achieve the recognition they deserve for their service. They offer $4.5 million in grants to support veteran suicide prevention and recovery services.

“We’re excited to continue supporting such a vital community in the addiction field,” says Master Center Veteran Outreach Coordinator, Ryan Moore. “Veterans are an underrepresented group, and, as a veteran myself, it’s great to continue serving them with help from this grant.”

“The DVS does such important work to provide education and services to the SMVF community, and we’re proud to be a part of their mission,” adds Master Center CEO, Anna McKean.
